So, here it is. The Stars of Karting Race of the Americas event at New Castle Motorsports Park was absolutely the best Sunday of racing that I’ve ever witnessed. I’m not talking about “great” battles for twelfth place here, because that doesn’t make headlines anywhere except with the parents of the drivers in twelfth and thirteenth. I’m talking about battles for the lead with multiple drivers chopping, slicing, and brawling over the top spot. I’m talking about last lap/last corner passes, drivers of concrete will refusing to bend, margins of victory measured in millimeters. God help me, I do love it so.
Now, where shall we assign credit for the greatness of the New Castle weekend? Fortunately, there’s plenty to go around.
