KS Mag - The Shawano Race Review

Here’s an excerpt from the latest digital KartSport Magazine, which highlights some of the spotlight moments of the Stars of Karting Eastern finale in Shawano, Wisconsin.

From start to finish, it was a brief three month season in which the Stars of Karting would crown its champions from the Eastern division. The series kicked off at Ocala Gran Prix in Florida before moving onto the Race of the Americas at New Castle Motorsports Park in Indiana, before wrapping its regional season at Shawano, Wisconsin.

When the rumble of the last engine had died out (and a few days had passed), the final points standings were announced and the Eastern champs in five classes had been named. Michael Vincec took top honors in ICC, Victor Cabrera bagged a well-earned TAG championship on the strength of three wins, Tatiana Calderon added her name to the list of Tony Kart JICA champions, Michael Hogg scored the TAG ICC championship for his Italian Motors squad, and Trent Hindman took a big title among the little guys in Cadet.

But the story isn’t just about the five class champions, as all told, there were almost 200 different drivers who competed in the 2008 Stars Eastern division championship.
